Randy encourages the use of creative self-expression for many of his clients.  He has found this to be particularly effective while working with children (who often do not have the words to say how they are feeling) and adult survivors of trauma and abuse (who also often don't have the words to describe their experiences).  As such, Randy incorporates several creative techniques including crafts, collages, drawing, fingerpainting, journaling, storytelling and watercolor.  He also utilizes several expressive therapies including art, dance, drama, music, play, photo and puppet therapy.
